Plans explains the choice a company makes once, at the very start, between two ways of holding its chart of accounts. Chart of accounts covers the screen almost every company ends up using. General ledger accounts is its counterpart under the older of the two plans - a different screen, reached from a different place in the navbar, but doing the same underlying job: it is where the accounts themselves live.

1. The list

One thing stands out in the list: the Account column carries a dash - 1013-1, 121-1, 4115-2 - where the number before the dash is the account itself and the number after it is the currency it is held in. That pair 4115-1 / 4115-2, both named Doubtful Clients, is exactly that: the same account, once for each of two currencies, rather than two different accounts that happen to share a name.

The rest reads the same as anywhere else in Libra: Auxiliary account marks the accounts that carry a party underneath them, Stopped marks the ones no longer in use, and VAT shows which side of subject-to/not-subject-to each account falls on. Budget entry, Projects, Sections, Operations and Category hold each account's budget and cost-centre settings.

If your company was set up under the older plan, this is your chart of accounts - not a second, extra list alongside another one. Everything Chart of accounts describes about using an account applies here too; only the screen that lists them differs.
